Sony ZirisTM - "TRANSIENT" Video Installation back up

Artist's statement: “The March 11th Earthquake/Tsunami/Nuclear disaster marked a pivotal moment in Japan. Six months later, the crisis continues to affect millions and it is anticipated that the clean-up effort will take decades.
I am amazed and inspired by the resilience and strong will the Japanese people have shown. Having travelled and having many friends from Japan, the crisis has been on my mind. When I was asked to work on a video piece for the Sony (a Japanese company) Ziris Wall at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, it was no question that my work “TRANSIENT” should pay tribute to the traditional/modern culture that I truly respect.”
Video art installation for the Sony Ziris - a massive 21-screen HD video wall part of the Digifest 2011 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Canada. Video coming soon.
Video will be in collaboration with tracks created by NYC based Space Jazz artist Takuma Nakamura

Quirky - Art Backdrop for HSNback up
Title: Quirky x HSN
Size: 10x10 feet (3.048x3.048 m)
Client Case Study
The Situation: Ben Kaufman, founder of Quirky - a social product development company in New York had an ambitious idea. He had one week to prepare for Quirky's live televised debut on HSN (Home Shopping Network), one of the biggest national shopping television networks in the United States.
Not a time to be wasted, Ben contacted me to see if it was possible in 3 days to create a massive 10feet x 10feet televised backdrop set for Quirky.
My answer: 72hours? + 10x10ft piece? = Lets Go
And thus, the Quirky x HSN art backdrop was born. Quirky functions as a social community where the people are the decision makers. The people conceptualize, convey and vote on a product idea and Quirky aids and facilities the idea into fruition. It made perfect sense that the people be the focus of this backdrop. As a result, the super dense art piece is composed inspired by Quirky's 50,000 member online community. Mixing with colour, rays and abstract motifs this piece represents the community's rich potential, inspiration, creative thought process and innovation.
Oh and there is a tiny Easter egg in there, where's Wald...err I mean eepmon?
Quirky will be televised on HSN starting January 29th, 2011.
Super Shopify Pwnsback up

Title:Super Shopify Pwns
Size: 55x38 inches (139.7x96.52 cm)
Tobias Lütke, CEO of Shopify needed a large work of art to hang at the Shopify studio - with a message. The message being that Shopify pwns all other online e-commerce systems out there.
Speaking of pwning, I can relate to them as we are all avid video gamers - especially the classic 8-bit consoles (NES anyone?). There are indeed subtle hints that can be found throughout the piece that relate to classic gaming. For example, does that Shopify dood's jump resemble some iconic video game character out there?
What makes a great game? Great story, great user interface, great experience. This is what Shopify is about. Their message: their e-commerce experience is second to none and that is what this piece is all about!
The Gemini Awards 25th Anniversary: Gemini Nightsback up
Title: Gemini Nights - A Citylights inspired piece by eepmon
Size:
11x17in (27.94x43.18 cm)
45.3x70in (115.06x177.8 cm)
In collaboration with Switch United, a multidisciplinary firm based out in Vancouver, Canada, we collaborated together to concieve the visual branding and theme for this year's Gemini Awards. Marking their 25th year (silver year) is a significant milestone for the Gemini's so our challenge is to emphasize the 25th anniversary.
The vision: Switch United asked me to create the vision of how 25 years can be visualized into some physical representation. Immediately we all felt that my Citylights series was the perfect starting point for this.
Using current/past show names and past Gemini Award covers, I created a glowing and vibrant city feel. There is something nostalgic about this piece that grabs your attention and where you want to be part of this glowing collective. At the same time, it is futuristic, digital and contemporary. Individually they are like varying sizes of LCD screens and when they are viewed from the distance, it resembles a silvery/red glowing crystal shadelier.
Gemini Nights will brand the event. From websites, digital media and television to print and large scale installations.
It's really a great conversation piece where people can really look around and find the show names and titles spanning 25 years of Canadian television!
eepmon is a proud sponsor for The 25th Gemini Awards

The Delirious World of Anime + Comics + Video Games + Art exhibit (May 17-September 7, 2008). On September 30th, 2010 Robert and I resurfaced Orpheus for TEDxToronto with completely new illustrations with the addition of music soundscapes composed by Andrew Zealley. Over 100 illustrations created, composed and programmed. Controlled via keyboard, the illustrations follows in tangent with Robert Bolton's spoken word text with Andrew Zealley's sound compositions.
